It depends on the clinic’s regulatory and professional structure. An AHCA-licensed Health Care Clinic must appoint a Medical or Clinic Director under Florida law. Is a prescriber the same as a clinic Medical Director?
“We already have someone who signs prescriptions.” A prescriber and a clinic Medical Director are not automatically the same operational role. One writes orders; the other governs the medical operation.
What governance questions should an HRT or TRT owner ask?
Who reviews the clinic’s service lines? Who owns clinical escalation? Who reviews provider roles and prescribing quality? Who oversees changes to the program and medication sourcing/handling? Who is available when a clinical issue reaches leadership?
Owner takeaway
The clinic should know who governs the medical operation — not only who writes the prescription. AHCA licensure/exemption stays with your AHCA consultant.
