An RN can perform professional nursing functions within Florida scope and may administer medications or treatments properly prescribed or authorized by a practitioner legally permitted to prescribe them. An RN license does not create independent prescribing authority. Use the RN for nursing — not as a substitute prescriber.

What separates the RN’s role from the prescriber’s in a peptide clinic?
The RN may participate in nursing assessment, patient education, administration under an appropriate order, monitoring, documentation, and escalation. The prescriber remains responsible for diagnosis, prescribing, changing the prescription, and individualized decisions requiring prescriptive authority.
