Ask the candidate to explain the director responsibilities in their own words, and to describe their chart-review sampling and documentation, their credential-verification process, and how required billing oversight will be performed and documented — plus how deficiencies are escalated and corrected.
What should I ask about a director’s availability, workload, and coverage?
Ask how they stay involved day-to-day, whether they will be available during an AHCA survey, how quickly they respond to an escalation, how many other clinics they currently direct (is the workload realistic?), and how professional-liability coverage is addressed for the contemplated activity.
